Accessing the Island:

  • Access to the island is by boat only. The island dock is private and not intended for public use.

  • Walking on or next to the breakwater to access the island is strictly prohibited.

Day Use:

  • Respect the island’s natural beauty and do not walk on the fragile sand dunes.

  • Walk on the perimeter paths only. (See map.)

  • No trespassing on or into island structures.

  • No dogs are allowed on the island.

  • Be aware of both dog and deer tick infestation and take appropriate preventative measures.

  • Day-use fires must be kept below the high water mark.

  • Richmond Island maintains a “pack it in/pack it out” policy. This means all trash, garbage and waste MUST be removed from the island. (This includes human waste!)
